| These small diameter
cables are made from carbon steel and are drawn galvanized. If used
outdoors, the galvanizing protects the cable from corrosion for a
period of time but will discolour to a white or dull appearance. Prolonged
exposure to the elements will eventual cause corrosion.
Cables which are required to be coated and which are subjected
to sheaves and pulleys should be made with a hard Nylon coating
instead of the relatively soft PVC coating. Ask for details.
MIL-spec. cables are fatigue rated and tested and have a much higher
life time expectancy than the commercial grades. |
