Slings made and tested by Unirope® are the choice of demanding and safety conscious plant managers
  WLL and Design Factor
Unirope® synthetic slings are manufactured to ensure a design factor of 5:1. This design factor is a factor which is divided into the nominal strength of a sling to arrive at the WLL (or Rated Capacity). This factor is necessary to allow for wear, abrasion, damage, and variations in load which are not always readily apparent to the sling user BUT DOES NOT COVER FOR INSUFFICIENT EDGE PROTECTION OR PROTECTION AGAINST CUTTING.

In the absence of a Canadian standard for synthetic lifting slings our sling capacities meet or exceed the values stipulated in ASME B30.9, and meet or exceed fabrication efficiencies as recommended by the AWRF.

Continuous testing and quality control guarantee a professionally made and safe sling. Our test equipment is certfied to ASTM E4 and approved by Lloyd's Register of Shipping.

Sling Tags
Synthetic slings produced by Unirope come with either one of the following tags:

Tag and User Information System
For our Edge-Tech® Nylon Slings the tag is made from heavy duty natural leather, and for our Uni-Web® Polyester Slings the tag is made from custom printed vinyl material.

These tags shows the Rated Capacity for vertical, choker and a 90 degree basket hitches in lbs and kgs, the type of fiber material and the sling length.

In addition, we attach the official WSTDA supplemental warning tag with valuable information for the sling user. The combination of these tags provide the user with the most complete and descriptive information.

Edge-Tech® Nylon Slings come with a branded leather and user information tag.
Uni-Web® Polyester Slings come with a custom printed vinyl and user information tag.

For Eye & Eye type slings we attach an additional tag informing the sling user about maximum hook- and bolt sizes the sling is designed for.

Uni-Path® Round Slings also come with the vinyl custom print tag system as well as the official WSTDA safety information.

Twin-Path® slings come with the official SlingMax® branded leather- and a red vinyl large-print tag for easy sling identification. Each sling comes standard with an embedded RFID chip
Uni-Web® Polyester Slings come with a custom printed vinyl and user information tag.

In addition Twin-Path® slings are identified with our Unirope assigned serial number, with a customer assigned serial number (if provided ), plus a bar-lock ratchet tag with last inspection ID number and year colour code.

If our customer provided us with their own serial or ID number, that number goes here This is Unirope’s assigned serial number which is stamped into the leather tag. This number remains the same throughout the life of the sling. The plastic ratchet tag’s number references the last sling inspection event and the year. When the sling is new this- and the Unirope serial number are the same.
