When ordering slings with eye hooks:
Unless you otherwise specify we will supply hooks made by CROSBY® complete with installed standard type Stainless Steel Latches. Type 320N hooks include a cotter pin which when inserted in the pre-drilled hole at the hook tip the latch can not be opened unintentionally.
     
Deformation Indicators – Two strategically placed marks, one just below the eye and the other at the hook tip. This allows for a QUIC-CHECK® measurement to determine if the throat opening has changed, thus indicating abuse or overloading.

To check, just measure the distance between the marks. That distance always is an increment of either 1/2" or 1"; you don't need a special dimension table to perform this inspection.
