Discarded chain hook Discarded chains Discarded chains For some strange reason the latch became too short to touch the hook tip!
 
 
No sir...we did not sideload this hook! Chain had passed a visual inspection but failed the proof test Here the load rested on the latch. We are still wondering how they did it! Once in a while something comes up which amazes even us at Unirope. We are still figuring out how the user got the latch inward without bending any part of the hook.
             
     
     
   
At first glance, this looks unsuspecting. Of course, you have to lift up the heavy sub-links to look underneath... ...and if you do, this is what it looks like! Remember, laziness is the worst enemy of safety!
